Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and self-starting Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This individual will ensure that equipment and building systems in the production plant/office location are running smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot repairs of critical equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, using specialized hand and power tools.
  • Develop permanent corrective actions for repeated mechanical failures.
  • Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, general maintenance, and installation on various equipment, including overhead cranes, pressure washers, saws, power tools, mixers, flat conveyors, bucket elevators, and other equipment specific to our business.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building structures and systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, painting, and carpentry, to detect malfunctions and prevent deterioration.
  • Ensure that proper testing has been completed before returning systems or equipment to production and clean up space and equipment after completing work.
  • Operate machinery, overhead cranes, and forklifts, as well as drive trucks, trailers, or tractors within the yard.
  • Perform area cleanup and housekeeping, including putting away tools, sweeping debris, and cleaning cluttered areas.
Requirements
  • Prior hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting repairs on heavy equipment and building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and boilers.
  • Ability to become certified in AWS D1.1 & D1.4.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication techniques, including stick welding.
  • Working knowledge of small engine repair.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Ability to drive trucks, trailers, or tractors within the yard.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagnostic, and operator's manuals.
  • Ability to work outside as required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Education Requirements
  • Associates degree in industrial maintenance or electro mechanics (a plus).
  • Journeyman electrician or Millwright trade card (a plus).
  • Boiler repair certification (a plus).
Working Conditions

Our facilities maintenance technician will work in a moderate to high-risk environment with exposure to unusual elements, safety precautions, and production conditions.
