POSITION OVERVIEW:

The kitchen steward is responsible for various kitchen-related tasks, including but not limited to washing pots and dishes, performing general cleaning duties, and organizing both food and non-food supplies.

This is a full-time role with shifts to be determined; evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operates under the guidance of a designated member of the Culinary Management Team.

2. Utilizes mechanical dishwashing equipment and other related tools.

3. Prepares and maintains the dish and pot washing area.

4. Distributes and organizes clean pots, pans, dishes, and utensils.

5. Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen areas following established cleaning protocols.

6. Empties trash receptacles and transports waste to designated disposal units.

7. Regularly drains and fills deep fryers and manages used oil disposal.

8. Completes daily and weekly cleaning tasks assigned by kitchen management.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:


• Upholding standards for personal appearance and hygiene.


• Ensuring safe and sanitary conditions.


• Participating in training and educational sessions as required.


• Performing specific work tasks and assignments as directed.


• Utilizing all chemical products according to manufacturer guidelines.


• Wearing all necessary personal protective equipment when required.


• Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables.

The hourly compensation for this position is competitive.


QUALIFICATIONS:


• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions in English.


• Capability to set up and operate commercial dishwashing equipment and related machinery.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical activities associated with this position include:


• Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.


• Pushing and pulling loads up to 100 lbs.


• Occasional climbing, reaching, bending, and twisting.


• Standing or walking for the entirety of the workday.


• Exposure to varying temperatures from ovens to freezers.


• Regular exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals and hot water.
