This newly established 15-bed unit functions as a Medical-Surgical overflow area. The Nurse to Patient Ratio is 5:1, ensuring quality care. The unit is supported by a unit secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs). We offer both day and night shifts.
A Registered Professional Nurse is accountable for delivering comprehensive patient care through the processes of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Furthermore, the Registered Professional Nurse prescribes, delegates, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates patient education and the activities of ancillary nursing staff while upholding the standards of professional nursing practice. The Registered Nurse is proficient in providing both direct and indirect patient care.
Qualifications:
A. Education and Skills
Must be a graduate of a State Board accredited School of Nursing or an equivalent program.
B. Experience
A minimum of 1 year of RN experience in an Acute Care Hospital setting is preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Must possess a current RN license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required within two weeks of employment.
