Role Responsibilities
The Clinical Care Assistant plays a vital role within the Clinical Care Team, ensuring smooth patient flow and assisting in various clinical tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing patient charts daily as assigned.
- Conducting patient history assessments, measuring vital signs, and documenting findings in an electronic medical record.
- Assisting physicians during procedures such as stress tests and minor surgeries.
- Performing diagnostic tests as required, including electrocardiograms and pulmonary function tests.
- Administering prescribed medications, including oral and injectable forms.
- Monitoring patient responses to treatments and medications.
- Maintaining medical equipment and reporting any issues to management.
- Providing coverage during lunch breaks as needed.
- Preparing exam rooms for patient consultations.
- Coordinating urgent diagnostic and referral appointments.
- Ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments.
- Documenting all patient interactions and treatments accurately.
- Carrying out additional duties to support the efficient operation of the practice.
Qualifications
- Completion of a medical assisting program or licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high patient volumes.
- Proficient fine motor skills for administering injections and conducting diagnostic tests.
- Physical capability to assist patients and move efficiently between rooms.
- Willingness to travel between practice locations.
