Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Management: Provide guidance and support to the application team, ensuring the smooth operation of databases.
  • Installation and Upgrade: Install, tune, implement, and upgrade DBMS installations to ensure optimal performance.
  • SQL Patching: Write and deploy SQL patches to resolve issues and improve database functionality.
  • Process Management: Process works accurately and in a timely manner, paying close attention to detail.
  • Urgency and Proactivity: Respond promptly to urgent issues and proactively make recommendations for system improvements.
  • Statistical Analysis: Collate, prepare, and present statistical information for internal and external use.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess expertise in installation, upgrade, and patching of different components in Sybase, MS SQL Server, Postgres, and experience with other platforms.
  • Replication and Monitoring: Experience with replication, including setup, troubleshooting issues, and failovers, as well as monitoring all systems.
  • Backup and Recovery: Ensure production uptime service levels are maintained and made available per requirements, including backup, recovery, refresh, performance tuning, and security.
  • Data Integrity: Provide data cleansing services, verify data integrity, and implement access controls.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, including problem defect analysis and resolution, space, storage, object management, physical database layout, rollback segment management, and temporary space management.
  • Schema Creation and Maintenance: Experience with schema creation, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Auditing and Security: Experience with setting up and configuration of auditing, audit trails, and disaster recovery setup and maintenance.
  • Automation: Automation using shell-script, python, Ansible, go, etc.
  • Performance and Tuning: Experience with performance analysis, monitoring of SQL queries, and platform-specific tuning.
