Children's Director Job Description

Overview

The Children's Director will provide leadership and support for developing a comprehensive ministry program for the children of our congregation. This role is responsible for assisting children in developing an understanding of the Lord Jesus Christ and enabling them to respond in faith to the Word of God.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive children's ministry program that aligns with the church's mission and values.
  • Provide leadership and support for children's ministry teams, including adult leaders and families.
  • Assist children in developing an understanding of the Lord Jesus Christ and experience greater fellowship with Him.
  • Enable children and families to respond in faith to the Word of God, by knowledge and loving God, evidenced by relationships in which lives are increasingly transformed into the likeness of Christ.
  • Shepherd the children, adult leaders, and families in the children's ministry.
  • Demonstrate a servant's heart and a thankful spirit for the privilege of serving our Lord and Savior.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate training and competence in children education/ministry sufficient to lead and develop the program.
  • Demonstrate the biblical qualification (Titus 1:6-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-7), heartily agree to the constitution and by-laws, beliefs and practices of National Heights Baptist Church, and believe that God has truly called them into the ministry.

Reporting Structure

The Children's Director will report to the Pastor with guidance from the personnel committee.
