Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Charge Nurse to join our Medical Acute Care Unit team at UCHealth. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing top-notch patient care, leading a team of nurses, and promoting a culture of excellence and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans.
  • Lead and mentor a team of nurses, promoting a culture of teamwork, communication, and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice, prioritizing patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Per UEXCEL Bylaws, must promote to Charge Nurse III within 3 years of promotion to Charge Nurse.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
