Position Overview:
The Director of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple contract sites and managing personnel involved in patient care. This role includes accountability for a designated patient caseload within the respective discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
Ensure that at least 60% of total working hours are dedicated to direct patient treatment.
- Communication:
Collaborate with the Regional Director to enhance community awareness of therapy services. Build and maintain strong relationships with facility administrators and staff. Effectively resolve issues through clear communication with involved parties. Conduct bi-weekly discussions with the Regional Director regarding staffing, productivity, and personnel matters. Coordinate timely orientation for new associates, addressing both MJ Care, Inc. and facility-specific training. Lead weekly department meetings.
- Staffing and Recruitment:
Consult with the Regional Director on salary guidelines for new and existing staff. Justify the need for current and additional personnel across all disciplines. Provide regular updates on staffing requirements to the Regional Director. Assist in the recruitment process for rehabilitation staff, including orientation, training, competency assessment, and education for new hires. Schedule team members for home health services based on patient requirements.
- Coaching and Support:
Recognize and provide constructive feedback to all rehabilitation staff.
- Performance Evaluation:
Assess the performance of rehabilitation staff with input from the Regional Director and consultants. Ensure clinical documentation is accurate and complete.
- Financial Oversight:
Assist in budget development and analyze productivity within the facility. Monitor the utilization of departmental resources, including professional and support staff, equipment, etc. Review and approve timesheets for accuracy and authorize overtime as necessary.
- Compliance and Confidentiality:
Safeguard access to Personal Health Information related to patients receiving evaluations, screenings, consultations, and therapy services.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage in program development and implementation of facility policies and plans.
- Participate in discussions with the Regional Director to enhance therapy services.
- Attend professional conferences to network and promote MJ Care, Inc. as a leader in clinical techniques.
- Oversee home health division operations, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Complete necessary duties related to assessment reporting and communication.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Therapist program.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a PT, OTR, SLP, COTA, or PTA, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills at the managerial level. Business management experience is preferred.
- Licensure: Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) and a valid driver's license in good standing.
