Position Overview:
Conducts advanced diagnostic ultrasound examinations.

Mentors and trains new staff members as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Executes diagnostic ultrasound procedures with precision.

Selects appropriate transducer specifications to ensure optimal exam results. Utilizes supplementary devices to produce permanent records of examinations. Proficient in the use of PACS (Picture Archive and Communications System) and Radiology Information Systems. Understands the limitations of electronic equipment.

Identifies the significance of all structures visualized through sonography. Discerns artifacts from normal or abnormal anatomy. Differentiates between normal and pathological conditions and expands the scope of studies to provide a comprehensive final assessment.
Adapts techniques as necessary to enhance visualization.

Collaborates with referring physicians, contributing both technical and professional insights to the final diagnostic report.

Assists in technical and nursing support during surgical biopsy and aspiration procedures. Performs calibration and adjustments on ultrasound machinery. Guides and trains fellow sonographers as directed.
Correlates patients' clinical histories with the procedures to be performed. Consults with radiologists or supervising physicians after reviewing data to determine the appropriate ultrasound approach.
Stays informed about technological advancements in the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
Fosters and maintains effective inter-departmental and intra-departmental relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of post-graduate experience, including completion of a training program in the relevant specialty, if applicable.
Education

Graduation from an accredited ultrasound training program recognized by CAHEA, or equivalent relevant experience.

Licensure, Certification, Registration

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification

Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association

Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in customer service, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree.
