Essential Experience: Must possess experience in Building Materials or high-volume manufacturing.

Position Overview: The Production Supervisor will support the Production Manager in overseeing all production lines, ensuring that safety, efficiency, and quality standards are reliably achieved or exceeded. This role requires hands-on management of production activities, identifying training and improvement opportunities, and closely monitoring key performance indicators related to safety, throughput, and costs. The Production Supervisor will also be instrumental in promoting safety, minimizing waste, and nurturing a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives aimed at change and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute action plans to address the root causes of operational challenges and support ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a strong emphasis on safety, ensuring a secure work environment for all personnel.
  • Manage and authorize employee time and attendance.
  • Ensure production objectives are met while upholding high-quality standards.
  • Optimize processes to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to meet the current and future demands of the business.
  • Efficiently allocate resources (personnel, materials, etc.) to achieve production goals safely and cost-effectively.
  • Uphold and exemplify the company's Core Values.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
  • Extensive technical or administrative experience in manufacturing, with a hands-on approach to operations and the ability to engage with employees at all levels.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Experience with Profit and Loss Statements and the budgeting process.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and motivate a cohesive team, with a talent for establishing clear objectives.
  • Skilled in coaching and guiding others to realize their full potential.
  • Open to recognizing and implementing staff suggestions where appropriate.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, coupled with a positive and engaging demeanor.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The role requires the ability to work both indoors and in various conditions, including extended or irregular hours. It involves working around machinery and moving objects, sometimes independently or as part of a team.
  • On the factory floor, the role may involve exposure to varying levels of noise and dust. Essential tools and equipment include manufacturing machines, hand tools, computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines, and possibly forklifts and vehicles.
