Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter Paramedic to join our team. As a Firefighter Paramedic, you will respond to emergency medical calls, provide patient care, and perform fire suppression duties. You will work collaboratively with our team to provide high-quality service and basic, as well as advanced patient care in a professional, caring, and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities:- Respond to emergency medical calls and provide patient care
- Perform fire suppression duties, including structural, residential, commercial, industrial, chemical, petroleum, vehicle, aircraft, and Wildland fires
- Operate various pieces of fire equipment and gear for fire suppression and control
- Provide written reports detailing specific firefighting and rescue actions taken on scene
- Assess, provide patient care, and assess each call to determine the best course of action and appropriate protocol
- Perform skilled tasks at the scenes of emergency and non-emergency calls, and transfer patients to medical facilities
- Treat patients in accordance with established Emergency Medical Service Protocols and Rural/Metro Fire Department policy
- High School diploma or GED required
- State, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (ProBoard) certifications as a minimum: Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials-Operations
- State issued or National Registered EMT-Paramedic
- Current ACLS certification
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with Rural/Metro policy
- Able to work any shift assigned, including nights, holidays, and weekends
- Available to work overtime as assigned and as needed on an emergency basis
