Certified Recovery Peer Advocate

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Recovery Peer Advocate to join our team at WellLife Network. As a key member of our behavioral health services team, you will provide supportive services to clients in our clinics, promoting recovery and wellness in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop Recovery Plans: Collaborate with clients to create personalized recovery plans, setting goals and objectives for their journey towards wellness.
- Raise Awareness of Support Services: Educate clients about existing social and other support services, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
- Model Healthy Coping Skills: Demonstrate healthy coping mechanisms and strategies, promoting positive behaviors and self-care practices among clients.
- Provide Peer Support and Advocacy: Offer emotional support and advocacy to clients after periods of hospitalization and incarceration, helping them navigate the recovery process.
- Accompany Clients to Appointments: Escort clients to court appearances and other appointments as needed, ensuring their presence and participation in the recovery process.
- Link Clients to Formal Recovery Supports: Connect clients with formal recovery supports, such as counseling, therapy, and support groups, to enhance their treatment outcomes.
- Coordinate Services with Clinical Team Members: Collaborate with other clinical team members to ensure seamless delivery of services and effective communication with clients.
- Participate in Regulatory and Agency Trainings: Attend training sessions and workshops to stay up-to-date on regulatory requirements and best practices in the field.
- Complete Timely Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Attend Supervision and Training Sessions: Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in recovery support and advocacy.
- Maintain Confidentiality and Boundaries: Uphold confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries with clients, adhering to CFR and HIPAA guidelines.
- Identify Client Strengths: Work with clients to identify their strengths and resilience, empowering them to take ownership of their recovery journey.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate information verbally and in writing to clients, providing clear instructions, feedback, and adjustments to work practices as needed.
- Represent Agency and Clinical Services: Represent WellLife Network and our clinical services at inter-agency meetings and conferences, promoting our mission and values.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in education and personal development.
- OASAS Approved Certification: Hold an OASAS-approved certification as a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or Certified Peer Recovery Advocate (CPRA-P), demonstrating expertise in recovery support and advocacy.
- NYS Driver's License: Possess a valid NYS driver's license, ensuring the ability to transport clients to appointments and engage in community-based activities.
