We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant to join our team at Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, PC. As a key member of our medical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.
Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect plastic surgery services to patients, adhering to the education, training, and patient care parameters established by our physicians.
- Perform independent and complex tasks of a routine nature, including providing patient education, conducting perioperative histories and physicals, and assisting in surgery.
- Work closely with our surgeon to provide first assist and support in the operating room, with the goal of learning and eventually performing procedures under direct supervision.
- Maintain open lines of communication with our supervising physician regarding patient medical history and other information during consultations, before and after surgery, and office visits.
- See pre-op and post-op patients, conduct preoperative histories and physicals, and provide prescriptions as needed during the perioperative period.
- Complete medical records using our electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Obtain patient medical and personal history, obtain signed consent forms, and perform physical evaluations on patients.
- Provide preoperative preparation for patients, including completing surgery scheduling forms and handling certification insurance concerns.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant training program.
- Certified NYS Physician Assistant.
- Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration and professional liability insurance.
- 2+ years of experience in plastics as a Physician Assistant (preferable).
- CPR, ACLS, BLS certifications.
- Registration in good standing as an RPA, per NYS laws.
- Membership on the medical staff of each Facility with appropriate privileges.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $80 per hour.
