Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Language Pathologist will identify students with communication disabilities, plan and implement treatment to minimize adverse impacts on student success, recommend treatment plans, and provide therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess students' communication skills for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility, and developing recommendations for treatment.
Collaborate with various groups and/or individuals for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines.
Coordinate meetings and processes for eligible students for the purpose of presenting evaluation results, developing treatment plans, providing therapy, and/or providing training to parents/students/staff.
Develop treatment plans, interventions, and/or educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
Instruct eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies for the purpose of minimizing the adverse educational impact of communication disorders in accordance with established guidelines and legal requirements.
Instruct assigned staff for the purpose of providing information on communicative disorders, use of assistive devices, and/or implementing prescribed treatment plans.
Interpret medical reports within the scope of Speech/Language Pathologist's experience and goals for the purpose of providing information and/or ensuring that treatment/intervention plans are appropriate.
Maintain files and/or records for the purpose of ensuring availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance.
Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information.
Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Prepare a wide variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
Provide speech and language therapy to students for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success.
Research resources and methods for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students' needs.
Respond to inquiries for the purpose of providing information as appropriate.
Requirements:
MA/MS Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology
AZ Dept. of Education Teaching Certificate - Speech Language Pathologist (Pre K - 12)
AZ Department of Health Services - Speech Language Pathologist Licensure
