Maintenance and Utilities Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and repair assigned equipment, including boilers, refrigeration units, air compressors, and other utility equipment.
  • Assist in major overhauls of equipment and perform routine maintenance checks on departmental trucks and other vehicles.
  • Operate payloader and coal conveying system daily, break up clinkers from boiler fire boxes, and remove coal ashes from boiler ash hoppers.
  • Inspect and service remotely located lake water pumping stations and wells, operate pumps, fans, dehumidifiers, valves, and screens, and observe alarms.
  • Mix and transfer various water treatment chemicals for boilers, deaerating tanks, and softeners, inspect and make adjustments to distilled and demineralized water facilities.

Required Qualifications
  • Must satisfy all requirements for utility trainee and utility operator positions with at least one year of experience as a utility operator.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of utilities systems and ability to train less experienced personnel.
  • Show ability to react quickly and properly to emergencies such as loss of steam air, refrigeration, potable water, chilled water, etc.
  • Have at least six months on-the-job training in conducting safety and quality assurance tests/inspections on utilities streams.
