About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgist to join our team at Howmet Aerospace. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing, modifying, and improving processes associated with the production of seamless rolled rings and other open-die forgings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary technical contact for applicable customers
  • Develop and troubleshoot processes for seamless rolled rings and open-die forgings
  • Metallurgical failure analysis and disposition for applicable customers
  • Own new part introduction (NPI) process for applicable customers
  • Perform various Metallurgy Department projects, including planning, organizing data collection, and presentation
  • Initiate and control cost reduction projects to achieve targets established by Supervisor
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in metallurgy and forging
  • Experience with Aerospace forging using titanium and/or nickel-based superalloys and strong working knowledge of Quality systems and specifications
