- Measure and layout workpieces accurately.
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify product dimensions.
- Troubleshoot and modify processes to meet performance expectations.
- Adjust and prepare machine tools for operator use.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives within the production cell.
- Cross-train in complementary skills to support production needs.
- Participate in training other technicians as required.
- Uphold all safety standards and report unsafe practices immediately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma and completion of a technical training program.
Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, tool design, and metallurgy.
- Familiarity with company protocols, rework instructions, and safety data sheets.
- Proficient in production management systems and internal controls.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and complete a machinist apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Attainment of trade certification is preferred.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Capable of following written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and stand for long durations.
- Knowledgeable in welding, hydraulics, electricity, and pneumatics.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to interpret blueprints.
