About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team at The George Washington University Hospital. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our patients and their families during this special time.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to laboring women and their newborns, including administering medications, performing vaginal exams, and monitoring fetal heart rates.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and communication.
  • Participate in emergency situations, such as cesarean sections and postpartum hemorrhages, and respond to critical situations with confidence and poise.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, including medical history, lab results, and treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure understanding and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current state nursing license.
  • ACLS, NRP (or obtained within three months of employment).
  • BLS.
  • One year full-time or three years part-time experience in an acute care setting.
