NICU Director RN

The NICU Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the unit's function and staffing. This includes forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration, supporting the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Cultivate a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.
- Stay abreast of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations and actively pursue efforts to achieve.
- Ensure adherence to standards of care and legal and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with all legal/regulatory standards.
- Ensure efficient patient throughput and delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning.
- Develop care coordination policies and procedures to promote improved quality, safety, and efficiency in care.
- Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration within and across departments and ensure staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.
- Direct nursing practice and unit operations, developing policies, procedures, and nursing standards to ensure patient and family needs are assessed, met, and evaluated.
- Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience.
- Bachelor's Degree or other approved education plan required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- BLS.
- ACLS preferred.
- L&D: NRP preferred/FHM preferred/RNC-OB preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in healthcare required.
- 1+ year of experience in leadership role required.
