Job Description

Capital Health is a leading healthcare provider in the region, committed to delivering exceptional patient care with a focus on nursing excellence. We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a Per Diem capacity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide traditional and individualized comfort measures to patients, fostering a supportive environment that aligns with our core mission.
  • Assist patients and families in identifying and implementing individualized comfort measures, including pain management and pharmacological/non-pharmacological measures.
  • Develop and implement plans of care based on Capital Health's core mission principles, incorporating illness, pain, fear, anxiety, and other stressful emotions.
  • Advocate for patients when necessary, ensuring their needs are met and goals are achieved.
  • Identify patient readiness to learn and develop individualized teaching plans, documenting outcomes and providing interpretation of patient condition.
  • Plan and document discharge needs, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
  • Anticipate and address potential problems in clinical situations, completing assessments and documenting changes, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Administer medications accurately and safely, documenting patient records according to the nursing process and ANA Code for Nurses.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to address problems with IV therapy and adverse drug interactions, updating care plans and teaching plans as needed.
  • Communicate patient clinical information to healthcare teams, ensuring seamless care coordination.
  • Meet patient care needs, provide assistance to team members, and respond to changing unit needs.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Per diem requires 2 years of experience as an RN in the unit specialty.
  • AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, Registered Nurse – NJ or Registered Nurse – NLC multi-state.
  • TNCC (or must obtain within 1 year of hire) AND 8 hours of Trauma related Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours annually if assigned to: RMC ICU/CCU, RMC Surgical Trauma Unit, RMC PACU, Emergency Department (all campuses).
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (or must obtain by end of orientation) AND 8 hours of Stroke related Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours annually if assigned to: Critical Care, Intermediate Care Unit, Emergency Department, Neuro Units, Cardiology Inpatient at Hopewell, Peds ED, PACU, Interventional Radiology, CNI, Observation.
  • CPR Requirements: Requires ACLS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to: Critical Care/Intermediate/Telemetry, Emergency Rooms, Pediatrics/Pediatrics Emergency Room, Labor & Delivery, Surgical Services (not to include Perioperative), Interventional Procedures, Observation.
  • Requires NRP (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to: Maternity Services, Emergency Room RMC/Deborah.
  • Requires PALS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to: Emergency Rooms, Infant Follow-Up, Surgical Services (only PACU & Same Day Surgery), Pediatrics/Pediatric ED. ENPC accepted in lieu of PALs for Adult Emergency Room.
  • Possesses strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, high interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adjusts quickly to change.
