Physician, Primary Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician, Primary Care with Bariatrics to join our team at Ventura County. As a Primary Care Physician, you will provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, focusing on preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with obesity and related comorbidities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated care, including dietitians, psychologists, bariatric surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in care coordination and contribute to patient-centered care strategies.
- Prescribe medications and treatment, monitor patients' progress, and adapt treatment as required.
- Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, nutrition, and exercise to support long-term health improvements.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program.
- Degree in Medicine (either Doctor of medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy).
- At least 3 years of residency training.
- Current state medical license and state DEA certificate.
- Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Board certified or Board eligible in Obesity Medicine (ABOM or equivalent).
This is a full-time position with a combination of Primary Care and Obesity Medicine. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing obesity and related health conditions.
Knowledge of current developments, trends, best practices, and evidence-based guidelines in the medical field; obesity and bariatric medicine; basic understanding of clinical supervisory principles and practices; pharmacology and psychopharmacology including laws regarding informed consent, dosage ranges, drug incompatibilities, and side effects; proper documentation of clinical services; principles, practices, and techniques of general medicine and its application; medical diagnosis and treatment; hospitals and clinics organization, communicable disease control; public health practices and procedures.
Skill/Ability to diagnose and treat patients; develop and monitor appropriate treatment plans; establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families, staff and others; learn and apply laws, statutes, codes and regulations governing California health service providers, and Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements; effectively communicate to a variety of demographics including patients, their families, other clinical staff and stakeholders; maintain medical records and prepare reports; serve on interdisciplinary teams; clinically supervise licensed and professional staff.
