Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Wagstaff Inc. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC Mazak lathes to produce precision parts. You will work closely with our manufacturing engineering team to develop and optimize machining processes, ensuring high-quality products and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program and operate CNC Mazak lathes to produce precision parts
  • Develop and optimize machining processes to improve efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering team to design and implement new processes
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work products
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and initiate corrective action as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in CNC machining, preferably with Mazak 5-axis Integrex
  • Strong understanding of machining properties of various materials, including steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, and composites
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with MRP systems for accurate job reporting and assignment of jobs
  • Ability to train and mentor other employees
Working Environment

The CNC Machinist will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, and equipment. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the working environment is often loud, and the employee must wear personal protective equipment and clothing as required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

The CNC Machinist must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of temperatures. The employee must also be able to communicate effectively with team members and management.
