Cashier Job Summary

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a skilled Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating cash registers, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers, responding to their needs, and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Operate cash registers accurately and efficiently, handling customer transactions, and maintaining a high level of cash handling skills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to company standards and policies.
  • Identify and locate products for customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all state laws and company policies regarding alcohol, tobacco, WIC, and EBT transactions.
  • Perform mathematical operations related to job functions, including calculating change and handling cash.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform mathematical operations related to job functions.
  • Ability to identify various produce items and correlate corresponding produce codes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to transfer to other locations within a reasonable commute of home store.
  • Basic understanding of English language; reading, writing, and speaking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cash handling experience of 6 months to 1 year.
  • Basic understanding of Spanish language; reading, writing, and speaking a plus.
