Job Summary

Delivers high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing various medical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process. Utilizes critical thinking and clinical expertise to develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans, prioritizing patient needs and adapting to changing circumstances. Collaborates effectively with healthcare teams to provide seamless care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough pre-anesthetic assessments, evaluating patient medical history, medications, and potential risks.
  • Develops and implements anesthesia plans, selecting appropriate techniques and medications to ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Monitors patients' vital signs and physiological responses during anesthesia, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal care.
  • Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth surgical procedures and effective patient care.
  • Provides education and support to patients and their families, addressing concerns and promoting informed decision-making.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices and policies.
  • Stays current with advances in anesthesia care, attending educational programs and conferences to enhance clinical expertise.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in the state of New Mexico.
  • Current certification from the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (CCNA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse healthcare teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and make sound clinical decisions.
