Job Title: Registered Nurse

At US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities, we are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Patient Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Educator.

About the Role:

The Nurse Patient Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Educator will play a crucial role in educating and supporting patients undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. This position involves providing comprehensive education to patients and their families about treatment protocols, potential side effects, and self-care strategies, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared throughout their treatment journey.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver individualized education plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new patients starting chemotherapy or immunotherapy.
  • Provide ongoing support and education throughout the patient's treatment course.
  • Collaborate with the oncology care team to identify and address patient educational needs.
  • Create and distribute educational materials, such as brochures, handouts, and online resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through patient feedback and outcomes.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and oncology nursing practices.
  • Serve as a resource for patients, families, and staff regarding chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to patient education and support.
Qualifications:
  • Oncology Certified preferred.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with a focus on oncology.
  • Previous experience in patient education, particularly in chemotherapy and immunotherapy, preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging educational content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and educational software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
