Job Summary

UPMC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at South Hanover Primary Care. This is a full-time, day shift position working a 4-day work week with no weekends or holidays.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of patient care providers.
  • Draw blood and administer medications, including oral, SQ, IM, and IV drip.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
  • Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Document all activities, interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating physician advice/instructions.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
  • One year clinical experience preferred.
  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
  • Act 33 with renewal.
  • Act 34 with renewal.
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
