About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group. This is a full-time opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse practitioner to work in a dynamic environment.

Job Description

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and consultation. You will work closely with our interprofessional healthcare team to develop and implement individualized plans of care that meet the unique needs of each patient.

In addition to your clinical expertise, you will also have the opportunity to participate in research and evidence-based practice initiatives, helping to advance the field of nursing and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on patient needs and preferences
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to ensure seamless coordination of care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including data analysis and performance improvement activities
  • Contribute to education and training programs for nurses and other healthcare professionals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing
  • At least two years of registered nurse, advanced practice or nurse practitioner clinical experience
  • RN licensure in Texas or Compact State licensure within 60 days
  • APRN licensure in Texas
  • Magnet certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., FNP, AGNP, NNP, PMHNP, WHNP)
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (not required for Employee Health, Employee Health Well-Being, Primary Care and Telemedicine departments)
