$55/hr ($60/hr CTC max)

Overview:

As a Network Engineer with Saxon Global, you will collaborate with TX State DIR to deliver high-quality network infrastructure solutions. This role demands expertise in managing Internet infrastructure, particularly for major ISPs like Verizon, AT&T, or xFinity.

This position requires a strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of network components. Your responsibilities will include executing new installations, upgrades, and administration tasks related to IOS-XR within the Internet infrastructure. You will also conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve network issues promptly. Additionally, you will maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures. You will provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders as required. You will stay updated with industry trends and best practices to optimize network performance and security.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field.
Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably within ISP environments such as Verizon, AT&T, or xFinity.
In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS-XR platform, with hands-on experience in installations, upgrades, and administration.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.
Proficiency in network troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) preferred.

Must reside in the Austin area and be willing to work onsite at the State agency (DIR at Winters building).


Key Responsibilities:
Execute new installations, upgrades, and administration tasks related to IOS-XR within the Internet infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of network components.
Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve network issues promptly.
