At Petra Cares, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Development Director to join our team. This key leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our mission and programs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, development, or related roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector. They will possess a strong understanding of fundraising principles, practices, and ethics, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Development Director will work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other team members to identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and other partners. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing donor recognition programs and strategies to enhance donor retention and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual and long-term fundraising plan, including setting goals, strategies, and timelines.
  • Identify new fundraising opportunities and innovative approaches to generate revenue.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement donor recognition programs and strategies to enhance donor retention and engagement.
  • Research and identify grant opportunities from government, foundation, and corporate sources.
  • Prepare and submit grant proposals, and manage reporting and compliance requirements for awarded grants.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, including galas, auctions, and other special events, to raise funds and increase community awareness.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, and volunteer coordination.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling fundraising materials, including brochures, newsletters, social media content, and donor appeals.
  • Represent Petra Cares at community events, meetings, and other public forums to promote the organization's mission and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor contributions, contact information, and engagement activities using the organization's donor management system.
  • Analyze fundraising data and prepare regular reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, development, or related roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles, practices, and ethics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
