About the Job

The Classroom Support Specialist will provide critical support to teachers and students in the classroom, including:

  1. Providing academic assistance to students, including one-on-one instruction and small group work.
  2. Assisting teachers with curriculum development and instructional materials.
  3. Maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment.
  4. Monitoring student behavior and reporting incidents to teachers and administrators.
  5. Developing and implementing strategies to promote student engagement and motivation.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 48 semester hours of college credit.
  2. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups of students, teachers, and administrators.
  3. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  4. Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple distractions. The Classroom Support Specialist must be able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and administrators, both in writing and in person. The position also requires the ability to lift, bend, and move equipment and supplies as needed.

Physical Requirements

The Classroom Support Specialist must be able to:

  1. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and administrators, both in writing and in person.
  2. Physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
