We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at Setpoint Systems Corporation. This is an on-site position, and we have offices in Littleton, south of Denver, and in Colorado Springs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building control systems and/or equivalent HVAC knowledge.

Job Description

This role involves designing complex projects from start to finish, including HVAC temperature control systems, lighting and access controls systems, and responsible for independently designing these systems. You will also be responsible for analysis and estimation, preparing cost estimates for control systems, designing/build budgeting, energy utilization conservation calculations, and managing labor budget. Additionally, you will work with customers to collect key information needed to ensure the finished design meets their needs, collaborate with account managers on construction estimates and proposal writing, and regularly update your manager of progress, concerns, and encumbrances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design:
    • HVAC temperature control systems
    • Lighting and access controls systems
    • Responsible for projects, start to finish, with kickoff, submittal drawings, 30% 90% and closeout
    • Responsible for independently designing complex projects
    • Focus on design to add or improve the energy conservation
    • Controls for HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handling units, heat recovery and terminal units
    • BAS system design for HVAC, Lighting and Access control systems using the Delta Controls
  • Analysis and Estimation:
    • Prepare cost estimates for control systems for commercial, industrial and institutional HVAC systems
    • Design/build budgeting
    • Energy utilization conservation calculations
    • Manage labor budget
    • Complete re-estimation, RFI, and change orders
  • Communication:
    • Work with customers to collect the key information needed to ensure the finished design meets their needs, as well as helping them understand options and benefits from the finished systems.
    • Learn from coworkers to increase knowledge of technical and design information and participate in training other departments on pertinent matters
    • Collaborate with account managers on construction estimates and proposal writing
    • Regularly update your manager of progress, concerns, and encumbrances,
Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a BS in mechanical engineering strongly encouraged, and/or 10+ years' experience in building control systems and/or equivalent HVAC knowledge. Additional qualifications include advanced knowledge of HVAC and product and systems equipment and specs, working knowledge of DDC, electric and pneumatic control systems, analytical and organizational skills, willingness to contribute to a team-oriented environment, excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting, LEED GA/AP, CEM, PE and association with ASHRAE.

Benefits
