We are seeking a friendly and efficient Host/Hostess to join our team at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery. As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a positive dining experience, and maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to guests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Manage the front of house, including greeting guests, seating, and waiting lists.
  • Handle cash, credit card information, and gift cards with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards and stock levels in the reception area and restrooms.
  • Process guest checks accurately, with no cash overages or shortages.
  • Anticipate and correct system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with pantry maintenance and pre-rush organization.
  • Support servers and bus persons to execute Perkins service standards.
  • Utilize proper cash handling procedures to execute cash and non-cash transactions.
  • Communicate with management and co-workers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment, safety problems, etc.
  • Monitor and oversee food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce the incidence of risk factors known to cause foodborne illness.
Requirements:
  • Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service.
  • Trustworthy and able to handle cash and credit card transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • High level of mobility and flexibility.
  • Ability to work irregular hours under heavy stress/pressure during peak times.
  • High level of coordination.
  • Ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
  • Ability to fit through an opening 30 inches wide.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors.
  • Continual standing and walking.
