Role Summary

As a seasoned Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for managing small to medium-sized projects with expertise in project design, coordination, and resource management. Your primary focus will be on tackling complex design challenges, particularly those related to structural strength, across various project types.

This is a unique opportunity to join DUNAWAY ASSOCIATES LLC as a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and utilize your skills to foster the growth of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the analysis and design of small and medium-sized projects.
  • Take responsibility for designing more complex projects within your area of expertise.
  • Perform design calculations and ensure compliance with codes, manuals, and project scopes.
  • Provide support on larger or specialized projects under supervision.
  • Coordinate effectively with engineers, technicians, and staff to develop plans and specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimates, monitor construction progress, and review relevant documentation.
  • Seal work products and conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities.

You will have the autonomy to independently seal projects and ensure rigorous quality assurance and quality control within your specialized areas.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • An in-depth understanding of engineering statics, construction material properties, and relevant design codes.
  • A solid knowledge of foundation systems, gravity systems, and lateral systems, including design and load tracking.
  • Proficiency in CAD/BIM production, engineering design software, and construction plans.

You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple assignments successfully.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
