Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respite Care Provider to join our team at Children's Home Network. As a Respite Care Provider, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized care and support to children with disabilities, including assistance with daily living skills, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
  • Develop and implement Family Support Plans in collaboration with families, caregivers, and other professionals.
  • Conduct assessments to identify individual needs and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Provide training and education to families and caregivers on child development, behavior management, and quality documentation.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss family progress, identify needs, and develop support plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, including progress notes and care provider reports.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; two years of post-secondary education in human services preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children with disabilities; experience in caregiving or a related field preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with no record of criminal driving offenses or license suspension.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Successful completion and maintenance of FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background checks, and sexual predator screening.
Competencies and Professional Development
  • Annual training requirements include Sexual Harassment, Blood-borne Pathogens, Workplace Accident Prevention and Reporting, Confidentiality and Privacy Practices, Diversity/Cultural Competency, Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporter Statutes and Methods, Prevention of Violence in the Workplace, OSHA-related training, Crisis Prevention, DCF Services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Modules 1-3, DCF Security Awareness, and other programmatic trainings.
  • Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and quality documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with families, coworkers, supervisors, and other individuals.

  • Works within an office environment, home office, family's home, or within the community.
  • High level of emotional discussions, requiring self-awareness and understanding of professional boundaries.
