Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Diagnostic Imaging Technologist Intern to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist Intern, you will play a critical role in ensuring the production of high-quality images for interpretation by Radiologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment to produce radiographic images.
  • Follow established imaging protocols and ensure image quality standards are met.
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established Safety Standards.
  • Establish ownership of clinical areas by maintaining the appearance and readiness of exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School graduate/GED.
  • Enrolled in an accredited Radiography program.
  • Must pass ARRT Registry within 3 months of graduation from an accredited JCR program in Radiography.
  • No experience required, but must be currently enrolled in a Radiography program.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required within 3 months of graduation from an accredited JCR program in Radiography.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License (VADL) may be required.
Physical Demands

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, and traveling. The ability to lift/push/pull 50-100lbs is also required. The job may also expose you to chemicals, cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
