We are seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team on a part-time basis. As a CRNA at Ochsner Health, you will administer anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing procedures under the supervision of a physician. You will work collaboratively with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff who care for patients.
To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. You should also be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard, as well as computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Additionally, you must be able to adapt your behavior to meet the specific needs of each patient population and perform duties such as documenting patient procedures and incidents, assessing patients before, during, and after administering anesthesia, and participating in department quality assurance initiatives and activities of professional development.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients and contribute to the continued growth and success of Ochsner Health. We offer a competitive salary, estimated to be around $140,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to providing a workplace that is free from discrimination based on race, color, creed, religion, pregnancy status, national origin, ancestry, mental or physical disability, medical condition, age, veteran status, military status, citizenship status, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, genetic information, political affiliation, unemployment status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local law.
Physical Demands: This role requires standing for prolonged periods of time, working in a fast-paced environment, and being exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue. It may also involve hazardous medications or waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, interacts with patients, and handles specimens that could contain diseases. Therefore, there may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases. Due to the nature of the job, individuals who reside in Colorado, California, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Washington, and Washington D.C. are not eligible for remote work positions.
