Job Overview
Psomagen Inc. is a leading provider of multi-omics services, specializing in next-generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, and single-cell sequencing. We are seeking an experienced NGS Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in Rockville, Maryland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing day-to-day NGS experiments, including sample preparation, library preparation, quality control procedures, and operating various NGS instruments. This role requires strong molecular biology skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Operate computer-based laboratory systems, record data, and perform laboratory tests.
  • Perform experimental procedures using molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, Quantification, NGS library construction, qPCR, operating sequencers, micro pipetting, and meticulous measuring.
  • Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains by adhering to standard laboratory formulas and procedures.
  • Oversee equipment performance and maintenance schedules.
  • May perform routine repair or replacement of standard parts.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order materials, and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot problematic samples and results.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and co-workers to improve existing processes.
  • Adapt to new services/technologies to enhance sales.
  • Train and guide new team members and subordinates.
  • Write and update protocols that meet the CLIA/CAP/ISO standard.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or relevant major required.
  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory work experience preferred.
  • Experience in molecular biology and genetics/genomics, including DNA/RNA isolation and manipulation, NGS library prep, QC, and sequencing preferred.
  • Organized and keen attention to details.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to multi-task and meet timelines.
  • Bilingual in English/Korean a plus.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
