Position Overview:
The selected contractor will be responsible for providing essential coverage during weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide coverage for the VA during periods of personnel vacancies in the Acute Hospital Unit and Urgent Care Room during standard business hours.
- Respond to call-ins within a 2-hour timeframe.
- Ensure a minimum of 10 credentialed physicians are available for scheduling to meet contract obligations.
Contract Details:
This is a bid opportunity. All candidates must submit their packages and documents by the specified deadline.
Performance Period:
The contract includes a base year with the possibility of four additional option years.
Service Locations:
Services will be provided on-site at designated medical centers.
Workload Requirements:
The VA requires a total of 4.63 Full-Time Equivalents (FTE) or 9,632 hours of service. Each site will require one Hospitalist per shift.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine. All physicians must hold a current, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory. Additionally, candidates should be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Operational Hours:
Weekdays from 4 PM to 8 AM, weekends from 8 AM Saturday to 8 AM Sunday, and federal holidays from 8 AM on the holiday through 8 AM the following day.
Compensation:
The hourly rate ranges from $180 to $190, with actual hours worked documented through sign-in/sign-out sheets.
