Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Records Specialist to join our team at WellSpan Health. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and processing patient medical information to ensure the completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble medical records and analyze for quantitative deficiencies and assign deficient records to appropriate providers per applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Collect, prepare, and scan patient records according to established procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute documents such as physician reminder notices, suspension lists, and/or other controlling documents.
  • Retrieve records from various areas for chart processing and perform release of information functions for continuation of care requests.
  • Perform related clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, answering telephones, setting up/maintaining computer files, reporting productivity data, and distributing incoming mail and reports.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology.
  • EMR or Epic experience preferred.
