Job Title: Clinical Educator

Job Summary:

Families Together of Orange County (FTOC) is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Educator to join our team. As a Clinical Educator, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing orientation, training, and continuing education for clinical support staff. You will serve as an expert and resource to staff and managers regarding clinical staff development, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a skills and competency assessment for medical assistants, LVNs, and other clinical support staff.
  • Identify staff competencies and areas of improvement, providing didactic and practical on-the-job teaching and demonstration as appropriate.
  • Develop standardized topics and ensure staff receive appropriate in-service training.
  • Create training schedules by site and by group of staff for year-round in-service.
  • Work with managers and providers to develop new skills, including direct patient care, customer service, and soft skills.
  • Ensure staff have standard skillsets and are tested prior to hiring.
  • Update required skillsets and check for qualifications based on job requirements.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years' experience leading a clinical team, with previous experience as a Charge Nurse desirable.
  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or graduation from an approved RN program required.
  • Current unencumbered license to practice as an RN in California.
  • Current, valid CPR certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and clinical problem-solving ability.
  • Capability working with data to track and measure performance.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in spreadsheets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).

Work Schedule:

  • General work hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with varying start times based on organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs.
  • Work schedules are subject to change based on organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs.

Work Location:

  • While staff may be assigned a primary site, you may be required to temporarily fill in at another site based on organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs.
