Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer - CAD Specialist to join our team at ITC Holdings Corp. As a key member of our design engineering team, you will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining drawings and models using CAD software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Drafting: Create and revise drawings and models using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain and administer CAD drawings and models, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • GIS and Mapping: Create maps and drawings for use by other departments and external entities, and maintain and administer various GIS systems.
  • Training and Support: Prepare training materials for the document management system and other databases.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain various databases and ensure accurate records.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate record updates with engineers, consultants, project managers, and maintenance personnel.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform drawing control functions, including revision control, drawing logs, and archiving.
  • Project Support: Prepare and distribute design packages for construction and as-built purposes.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in Computer Drafting, Computer-Aided Design, Electrical Engineering Technology, or relevant equivalent experience and/or education.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years related experience; five (5) years preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, including Bentley, MicroStation, and AutoCAD; experience with mapmaking and surveying; and knowledge of electronic document control software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ProjectWise
  • Ability to edit CAD drawings
  • Ability to integrate input from others into CAD drawings
  • Ability to collect and enter data quickly, correctly, and efficiently
  • Understanding of spatial data, algorithms, data integration, and data conversion
  • Knowledge of Electric System and its components
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Strong math skills
