Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Press Operator to join our team at MediaNews Group. As a key member of our pressroom, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our double width offset press, ensuring the highest quality product with minimal waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain the double width offset press, ensuring timely and safe production.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating the press.
  • Monitor and adjust ink and water balance, color registration, and press settings to achieve optimal print quality.
  • Assist with webbing the press, removing and installing press blankets, and changing ink and water rollers.
  • Perform general press cleanup and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Newspaper web offset certificate desirable.
  • Completed four years offset web printing pressmen apprenticeship program.
  • Minimum of two years' experience on double width web offset press.
  • Register quality 4/color on offset press.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 80 pounds, and climb press stairs.
