Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations, providing exceptional patient care, and working collaboratively with our radiology team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and select technical factors and equipment to obtain optimal quality scans.
  • Operate portable ultrasound equipment and assist physicians with recommendations for obtaining optimal studies.
  • Secure patient history and provide radiologists with adequate information for film interpretation.
  • Work closely with radiologists to ensure optimal outcomes for each procedure.
  • Maintain positive guest relations and comply with established safety standards.
  • Document department records, including inventories of supplies and patient statistics.
  • Stay up-to-date with current ultrasound skills and new developments in the field.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a program approved by ARDMS.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by ARDMS within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by AHA within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with various age groups of patients.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work odd hours, respond to emergency call-backs, and participate in on-call programs. The incumbent may be exposed to radiation, hazardous chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
