Job Summary:

Mixes and serves a variety of drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, to patrons of the Eldridge Hotel bar. This role requires a strong knowledge of drinks, ingredients, and presentation, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of guest information.
  • Suggestively sell menu items, beverages, and wines to guests.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Promote specials and maintain a thorough knowledge of:
    • All liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available.
    • Characteristics and descriptions of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
    • Designated glassware and garnish for drinks.
    • All bar menu items, preparation, method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentations, and prices.
    • Bar layouts, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set up, room capacity, hours of operation, and price range.
    • Service procedures.
    • Correct maintenance and use of equipment.
    • All department policies.
    • Daily specials, 86'd items.
    • Hotel services/feature and local attractions/activities.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and legal serving times.
  • Monitor problems with intoxicated guests and/or altercations and relay to the manager on duty.
  • Check storage area for proper supplies, organization, and cleanliness. Correct any problems.
  • Check quality and amounts of garnishes ensuring quality.
  • Check bar set ups for cleanliness, neatness, and agreement to departmental standards.
  • Check all aspects of the bar environment ensuring compliance with standards of cleanliness and order.
  • Adhere to grooming and attire policy as stated in the employee manual.
  • Ensure that the bar is properly stocked prior to shift beginning.
  • Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Promote positive guest relations at all times.
  • Monitor guest complaints and notify management of any situations ensuring guest satisfaction.

Requirements:
