Position Overview:

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Cardiac Monitoring Specialist operates under the guidance of the Nursing Director, Clinical Manager, Resource Nurse, or Staff Nurse. This role encompasses both Monitor Technician responsibilities and Unit Secretary duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional environment within the nursing unit.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills while interacting with physicians, patients, visitors, and fellow staff members.
  • Welcome and direct patients and personnel from various departments, providing accurate non-clinical information.
  • Contribute significantly to patient and physician satisfaction through effective communication.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current BLS certification.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Moderately advanced understanding of ECG rhythms; knowledge of 12-lead ECG is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a monitor technician is desirable.
