Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Ascension Recovery Services. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with substance use disorder in their recovery journey.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician will serve as a personal guide and liaison for individuals with substance use disorder, assisting them in identifying treatment needs, developing and maintaining individual treatment plans, and supporting them to remain in treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive orientation to new clients, including program rules, handbook, expectations, and treatment plans.
  • Lead educational groups to help clients regain skills needed to reenter the community and improve psychoeducation related to clients' needs.
  • Process clients into residential treatment, complete intake forms, and administer Urine Analysis (UA) as needed.
  • Assist clients with daily activities, including ADLs, and oversee recreational activities, transportation, and other functions as requested.
  • Maintain detailed notes of incidents and complete reports promptly.
  • Participate in in-service training and other training as directed by management.
  • Perform receptionist duties and provide oversight to clients during housekeeping, meal service, and daily activities.
  • Identify verbal and non-verbal cues for potential aggressive behavior and apply de-escalation techniques.
  • Provide information to the treatment team to inform treatment decision making and link clients to available resources in the community post-treatment.
  • Assist clients in crisis situations and complete medical assistant duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification preferred.
  • Experience and training working in the 12 Step Field and/or Dual Diagnosis treatment strongly preferred.
  • Must have or, within 60 days from hire, be able to obtain current First Aid and CPR card.
  • Valid driver's license required.
