Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Midstate Radiology Associates is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at our West Hartford Imaging location. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic Mammographic procedures in a hospital or outpatient-based facility, according to established protocols to assist the referring physician in diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate digital tomosynthesis mammography equipment and perform procedures by positioning patients, preparing contrast medias, and selecting the correct exposure factors utilizing the assessment of patient age, pathology and diagnosis to produce technically accurate digital and or analog images to assist the radiologist in diagnosis.
  • Ensure optimal technical quality and accuracy of all mammographic examinations according to MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act), the American College of Radiology (ACR), and FDA quality control requirements.
  • Accurately input data into the RIS by tracking procedure performed as well as data required in order to capture exam and supply charges, resource allocation and other relevant information. Transfer correctly annotated images into PACS.
  • Develop and evaluate images for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
  • Obtain all relevant patient information, and assess physician's order and/or requisition for completeness by reviewing the clinical information, pertinent laboratory results and patient's chart to ensure the correct procedure is performed and proper patient preparation is administered on the correct patient.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Radiography program.
  • CT State Radiographer's License required.
  • ARRT (R) & ARRT (M)
  • Current X-Ray experience required and Mammography experience preferred however, willing to train the right candidate.
