Responsibilities:
  • Implement, direct, and coordinate patient care through the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Recognize and treat physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the specific unit.
  • Develop and maintain a professional image that reflects the employee's role in healthcare, with confidence and a positive impression.
  • Accurately transcribe physician's orders and complete chart checks to ensure no missed orders.
  • Demonstrate therapeutic communication skills and ability to assess patient education needs and use patient education resources.
  • Participate in unit activities, such as staff meetings and in-services, to stay up-to-date on best practices and new developments in the field.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • Certification in specialty preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
