Job Summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist II to join our team. As a CT Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing computed tomography procedures that create images needed for interpretation and the performance of interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of a CT Technologist I
  • Administer contrast or other imaging agents safely and accurately
  • Assess patient risk for allergic reaction to contrast media and other related medications
  • Evaluate lab values prior to administering contrast media or other related medications
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients and families
  • Perform ordered exams or therapy in accordance with established imaging protocols
  • Document deviations from protocol and/or patient-specific issues that may impact image quality
  • Notify healthcare providers when immediate clinical response is necessary
  • Timely complete all required post-processing, image display, and transfer for physician review

Requirements

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • ARRT-CT certification
  • BLS certification
  • 6-month orientation completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience
