A prominent healthcare organization is seeking a qualified Physician to enhance their expanding Urgent Care division.
Work Environment:
- Type: Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
- Employment Type: Part-time or full-time
- Schedule: Combination of weekdays and occasional weekends
- Specialty Focus: Family Medicine and/or Urgent Care
Patient Demographics:
- Age Range: All ages
Key Responsibilities:
The Urgent Care Physician will be responsible for:
1. Addressing patients' acute medical issues.
2. Assisting with various common medical concerns and procedures, including:
- Diagnosis and treatment of STIs
- Removal of staples and sutures
- Conducting pelvic examinations
- Performing incision and drainage (I&D) procedures
- Administering intravenous (IV) therapy
- Providing nebulizer treatments
- Managing upper respiratory infections (URIs), coughs, bronchitis, urinary tract infections (UTIs), chest pain, abdominal pain, and conducting psychiatric evaluations and stabilization.
3. Staying updated with evidence-based practices and current procedures relevant to urgent care.
4. Educating patients on fundamental primary care topics such as hypertension, diabetes, and mental health issues.
Documentation:
- Accurately document physical examinations, procedures, and medications prescribed during office visits.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Urgent Care.
- Valid medical license to practice in California.
- Board Certification in Family Medicine and/or Internal Medicine.
- Experience in treating patients of all ages, including performing minor office procedures.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
